A Grand Grand Overture for Three Vacuum Cleaners, Floor Polisher, and Concert Band was written by Malcolm Arnold in 1956 for Full orchestra. This transcription keeps the frivolity of the original. For this performance the part of the Floor Polisher is played by a Hoover upright who remembers the first perfomance of this piece at the Hofnung Festival.
This great piece arranged by Paul Yoder segues the openings of famous works, followed by closings of different works to create a very INTERESTING work. While the audience may find it strange to jump so quickly from piece to piece, after weeks of rehearsal it begins to sound completely normaly to the performers!
